I half expect Putin to say that he has to take over California and Oregon due to all of the “ethnic Russians” who have been living in America since Fort Rus or some such.
Well, Tell It Right, Putin does want Alaska, Hawahii, and California, it seems. He appears to be ready to ‘rescind’ the Alaska purchase agreement with the US (Seward’s Folly), and may be willing to refund the $7.2 million or so that was paid. CA and HI? He just wants them for logistical purposes.
Most Russians in Oregon broke with the Russian Orthodox church over a few differences. They are still Russian Orthodox Christians who left because of persecution and first went to China and then went to Brazil. From there, they came to Oregon. Many are farmers and started growing blackberries, etc. They also do a lot of fishing in Alaska and some have moved there. They are hard working and very intelligent. Many are my friends. They liked to pay with berries and halibut. Very good halibut. They are Trump voters too. The rest in Oregon are Ukrainians. They are mostly born again Christians and are also Trump supporters.
