A prominent rabbi at Columbia University took the drastic step Sunday of warning Jewish students to go home and not return to campus because of “extreme antisemitism” at the Ivy League school.
The dire directive followed yet another night of virulent anti-Israel protests on campus — which included one protester holding up a sign suggesting that students waving Israeli flags should be the next target of Hamas terrorists.”
The events of the last few days, especially last night, have made it clear that Columbia University’s Public Safety and the NYPD cannot guarantee Jewish students’ safety in the face of extreme antisemitism and anarchy,” Rabbi Elie Buechler told students Sunday morning over WhatsApp. “It deeply pains me to say that I would strongly recommend you return home as soon as possible and remain home until the reality in and around campus has dramatically improved.

Should they take it sitting down like they did in Europe?
It’s time for another Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
Final exams are often in May.
If the kids don’t take their final exams about $30K of tuition has been blown.
NY State & NYC surely have tough anti-discrimination laws. They can be put to use.
I’m wondering what changed?
It hasn’t looked safe for those students for 7 months.
Come back armed, trained and alert!

I guess Columbia is a racist, xenophobic university. If this was white people doing this about blacks and South Africa this would be a totally different story, right? Or the Right against the Left....
Make Aliyah while you can.
I agree with the Rabbi. The only way to shape up these schools is to dry up their funds.
Well said. This rabbi is right to be worried about the physical safety of Jewish students. But if the students go home, the Muslim extremists on campus have won a complete and total victory.
And they will only be emboldened to take things even further.
I hate to use the phrase, but this is perhaps a hill to die on. Be careful. But don’t back down. Stay. And she the universities for not providing adequate protection.
Invite Sen. Fetterman to give a talk (seriously). Fetterman is a bit of a nut. But he absolutely understands the current situation. Below is Fetterman confronting some pro-Hamas protesters near the Capitol. Note that he’s waving an Israeli flag at them. Awesome.
Wow. Great idea. You should enroll there and lead the charge. Yes Sir. Brave Patriot.
Patriot # 2 to help lead the Fight!
I'll sit back and watch your bravery on YT. LOL!!
Is that not criminal?!
And extremely odd in that Columbia is located in the city with the largest Jewish population in the world outside Tel Aviv.
Did the Rabbi warn Jewish students not to vote Democrat? If he didn’t, the Rabbi wasted his time.
They should do a class action lawsuit against the school for not making sure they had a “safe space.”
“One way or another.”

...The point is, as Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai taught us the halakha a long time ago, “Esav hates Yaacov.”
Indeed, the Jews still lingering in the Diaspora have no future on foreign soil. Violent attacks against Jews are occurring every day.(Yes, they occur in Israel, but the perpetrators are a defined group, and the army and police are on their trail asap;) The writing is scrawled clearly on the wall even for a blind man to see.
But the Jews carry on their business as usual, pretending “It can’t happen here,” as if the Holy One Blessed Be He has gone on vacation, forgetting his promise to return the scattered Children to Israel in one way or another...
