Our concern is that if ANY country is allowed to censor content for ALL countries, which is what the Australian “eSafety Commissar” is demanding, then what is to stop any country from controlling the entire Internet?
We have already censored the content in question for Australia, pending legal appeal, and it is stored only on servers in the USA.

Of course he’s right. Australia doesn’t get to censor things outside of their territory. If that means people in Australia can use VPN’s and easily get around their censorship, tough crap.
This little glimpse into totalitarian tactics struck me like an epiphany about how far along toward that end the world really is.
Musk should completely shut it off in Australia. The masses there are incontrollably addicted to the X drug.
Both the masses and the advertisers will go after this person with pitchforks and torches for causing them the loss of their drug and market place.
Their PM is actually fronting it he was on TV saying Musk is an “arrogant billionaire”. I’m sure he’s a leftist.
Musk hits the off switch and he will change his tune. Twitter is a huge part of the advertising market for his economy. The backlash from business will be off the charts. And folks are addicted, ever seen this place when it goes down? Everyone panics and goes through serious withdrawal s immediately.
In fact, I’ll bet that if he even threatens to shut it off and what the real consiquences will be the tune will change.
