Three million children in Haiti are in need of humanitarian assistance as continuing gang violence hampers aid delivery, the head of the UN children's agency, Unicef, has said.
Catherine Russell said the situation in gang-wracked Haiti was "catastrophic" and growing worse "by the day".
She told a meeting of the UN Security Council that in many areas essential services had collapsed.
Meanwhile, a transitional presidential council has still not been sworn in.
While Haiti has been blighted by gangs for years, the armed groups stepped up their attacks at the end of February when Prime Minister Ariel Henry travelled to Kenya to seal a deal for a multinational security force to be deployed to the Caribbean nation.

His own state is such a sterling example of good government that Haiti could certainly benefit! 🙄

Does modern Haiti (today) boast of any intrinsic value or natural resources that it could offer in trade to a foreign power in return for stepping in, crushing the gangs forcibly, and running the place for them so a basic humane social structure would exist? Any wealth at all?
Or are they already “mortgaged to the hilt” with IMF loans and totally dependent upon the charity of others for miserable subsistence?

Haiti disappeared from the news for a few weeks
I wondered what happened to President BBQ and his friends.
That is where we are headed. They must sort it out for themselves. It’s the only way tough leaders are made, otherwise we get soft puppets that become horrid dictators. Babies must die while adults F around....just like here with abortion...until tough men coalesce and begin knocking heads.
