An Iranian rapper jailed for supporting anti-government protests has been sentenced to death, his lawyer has said. He was sentenced in July 2023 to six years and three months prison after avoiding a death sentence due to a Supreme Court ruling.

The college setting also provides an aura of respectability, "the brightest of our children", etc.
The MSM, of course, will always associate the protest with the college as the origin of the protest, and the faculties in many cases can be counted on to work in the background to keep the fire stoked.
