President Joe Biden issued an order on Monday forcing a Chinese-backed cryptocurrency mining company to sell land near a Wyoming nuclear missile base, citing national security concerns.
The company, MineOne, acquired the real estate in June 2022, placing its operations within a mile of Francis E. Warren Air Force Base, a “strategic missile base and key element of America’s nuclear triad,” according to the White House.
The company’s site contained “specialized and foreign-sourced equipment potentially capable of facilitating surveillance and espionage activities,” the presidential order said.

Hard for me to trust Pudding Joe but this sounds like a good idea.
That being said, every single silo is well-known.
I thought this was the one near Grand Forks. It proves there are quite a few other Chinese owned facilities, near military installations.
Good God. They have held that land since 2022? I understand the locations of silos are well known to the Chicoms and all that, but what kind of SIGINT might they have been able to collect in this time frame?
It is possible they have gleaned information otherwise unavailable without the close proximity.
Biden must not be on MineOne’s payroll. He probably gets millions from their competitor.

Being able to jam signals would be useful in times of war.
Silos are pretty secure. All communications lines, firing mechanisms. They’re hardened. They’re prepared.
That being said, the Chinese certainly didn’t purchase that land by accident. They had to have some reason(s).
Like maybe missile launch early warning.
If the Chinese don’t have the satellite coverage like Russia does, there might be something to that.
We would watch Russian missile launches with (for example) RC-135 Cobra Ball aircraft (supposedly there was one on station to watch an SS-25 test launch which never happened).
Spectral analyzers watching the burn, SIGINT, etc. Although the ultimate SIGINT was supposed to be the RC-135V Burning Wind (we used to have a guy here but he passed away long, long ago).
In that event Cobra Ball supposedly left the area and then eventually come KAL-007 (1983) in roughly the same area (this was the excuse).
But a Cobra Ball would ascend to altitude then fly figure-8 patterns to conserve fueld and remain on station longer. Something KAL-007 would not have done.
Trying to find where in that pesky constitution thingie, the right granted to the fed to decide who can buy what property...

If the Feds really wanted that land to be sold, thy would just Imminent Domain it and seize it for “National Security Concerns”.
Wyoming for a low cost bitcoin mining operation?
Maybe they were using flared natural gas to make electricity to power the mining. Like what we do in Texas.
Maybe they just found some descendants of a land owner who just wanted to stop the county taxes on the land.
It is only a couple of miles from Cheyenne, so it should be fairly easy to replace.
What scumbag free traitor sold it to them?
I don’t know.
I admit, I know very little about what kind of material could be obtained by being in the vicinity of a missile silo since as another poster stated, they are pretty secure and hardened.
But I know enough to know that there are things I am unaware of that they can skim off the top that someone like me might think either don’t exist, or if they do exist, they aren’t useful to an enemy, both of which are probably incorrect assumptions.
