Woodland Hills, California (Los Angeles suburb)

Streets eerily lacking in traffic. About half the restaurants closed, business down significantly in those remaining open. Major shopping malls closed. A lot of talk about the incident.

I wonder if all this activity is just a shade overdone. I can see the terrorists attacking, say, the Mall of America, but not the Westfield Shopping Town in Woodland Hills; there's just no symbolism there.

We're in the same neck of the woods! I think the Westfield Mall was closed because of Boeing being right across the way, but maybe people are just spooked.

My aunt went to Cloth World a couple of hours ago to buy some materials for a dress she's making, and she said the place announced they were closing at five today because of the "national crisis." I suppose they figure that if Clinton could bomb an aspirin factory, terrorists could target a fabric store.
