THESE COLORS DO NOT RUN

LET'S ROLL

Free Republic has a rich history of activism -- we pull together when the going gets rough, and we're making headway!

On behalf of Jim Robinson, who has so kindly consented to authorize this thread for the Breaking News category, I would like to invite you all to take five minutes from your very busy lives and make a phone call, send a fax or write an e-mail.

If you would like to help get signatures for the petition locally and offline, here are several files you can choose to download from:

Petition To Let the Irrigation Water Flow in the Klamath Basin of Oregon

Thank you for that suggestion, 68-69TonkinGulfYatchClub!

CONTACTS

If you'd like to call the White House and express your support for the Klamath Farmers, here are a few suggestions:

Ask for Karl Rove's office. Then ask for David Thomas in Karl Rove's office. He is personally dealing with the Klamath Basin issue. Thank you for that info, Lazamataz!

UPDATE FROM: AuntB:

I was given this information for David Thomas, the White House WESTERN rep: dthomas@who.eop.gov

cell ph# 1-202-309-1358, Office, 1-202-456-7944

48 Posted on 07/17/2001 18:44:39 PDT by AuntB

Or you can call Ari Fleisher's office. A photo op of President Bush personally opening the headgates at Klamath would do more to consolidate the conservative base than pictures of T-ball on the White House lawn. Or you can just talk to the person answering the phone. There is also a White House comments line.

Above all, be polite.

You can also call your Senators or Congressman and support the Klamath farmers.

White House:

(202) 456-1414 telephone
(202) 456-1111 comments line 9:00a-5:00p Eastern time (202) 456-2461 fax
(202) 456-6538 alternate fax number given out by White House (thank you for that info, mother!)

president@whitehouse.gov e-mail

If you haven't yet done so, please take a moment to:

Sign the petition

E-mail Gale Norton
E-mail EPA
E-mail President Bush
E-mail Laura Bush
E-mail V.P. Cheney
E-mail Mrs. Cheney

Find contact info for your Senators here
Find contact info for your Congressman here

Those of you that expressed a desire to contribute to the farmers, send funds to:

Klamath Relief Fund
PO Box 5252

The last I heard was the Klamath standoff was mute. The feds just don't have the manpower or resources to play games, and the farmers were going to put a 56" pipe on county property around the headgates to insure water indefinitely at thier discretion. Anything changed?

Thanks for your bump backhoe. Yep, it was big time busy...

Did you hear President George W. Bush say yesterday that he "wasn't going to aim a $10M missle at a $10 tent just to hit a camel in the butt."?

I could just hear elitist Dan, Peter, and Tom gasping.
LOL!!! but in my world, our President is talking to us,
We the People who make America work.
He is talking to the brave men and women working
relentlessly with blood sweat and tears at the shattered WTC site and Pentagon.

Coyote, I heard the same, that the Farmers stood down, however, not sure all issues are resolved for the Klamath Farmer's future water needs.
Clinton's a liar said that we should get back to keeping the Petition on a roll.

Thank you for coming by. Any information you have on the current Klamath situation would be appreciated.

Yes, I heard that, and it needed saying. America's great strength is not in its celebrities, not in the chattering heads you see on TV, but in its ordinary people...

...like all those firemen, policemen, and rescue workers you're seeing in NYC. If they are any indication of what America's really like, we'll be just fine--

Hello, Coyote. Let's hope that this tragic act brings the American people back to the basic values, of right and wrong.

Hi, 68-69, thanks for the other pings. With all that is going on, plus the fact that my getting on-line has been slowed, I've been limited on my posting.
