AT&T Bans US Flag?
WGST Radio "The Kimmer" Show | September 19, 2001 | Caller on "The Kimmer" Show

Posted on 09/19/2001 1:23:34 PM PDT by Jay W

Just heard a caller on "The Kimmer" show on WGST say that AT&T in Atlanta made him -- the caller -- take down the American flag, because of concern that it might "offend" some people in this "culturally diverse" city!

Kimmer's still waiting for confirmation from AT&T.

The Kimmer's hopping mad, too! So am I, if it's true that AT&T is another corporation pulling this sh*t.

BTTT. Kimmer's still waiting for confirmation of this story, from a caller. Guy working at AT&T put up an American flag on cubicle, because supervisor said it might be "offensive" to people from "other cultures."

Post #2 was written badly. See post #3. Admin Monitor, feel free to remove badly written post #2.

Kimmer suggests that if the AT&T story is true it should be called Afghan Telephone and Telegraph.

When President Bush talked about "smoking them out of their hole," I had no idea he was talking about the anti-American leftists within our own borders. The guy may be inarticulate, but he's a genius. The anti-American forces (politicians, corporations, etc.) are coming out of the woodwork like cockroaches in the dark. This is a prime opportunity to take care of the weeds. Because, once the horror of this crisis subsides, these kind of people will go back to being termites - silently eroding the foundation of America.

You may be dealing with a particular supervisor or office rather than the Corporation as a whole. However, it is definitely worth reporting to the AT&T main office... let's see what they have to say. Make sure you mention the office and supervisor in question when you call them - Kimmer should be getting this information soon.

Do you have any more details. Hubby works for AT&T in Denver. They have their flags up. If you can get some more details such as what department or building.

He's going to try to track the problem down.

That link's to the national office.

This story is out of Atlanta, a "culturally diverse" city. It sounds like some supervisor did this anti-American abomination.

It's like the librarians in Florida who said staff can't wear stickers that said "Proud to be an American."

The guy's flag at AT&T was taken down from his cubicle while the guy was out in the field.

Well, I'm offended that over 5000 of our citizens were slaughtered on national TV. I'm offended that we still haven't taken action. I'm offended that these lefty whiners still don't 'get it'. Let's deal. Sorry, I've been lurking since the 12th, and can't stay out of it anymore. I joined Freep today. You guys are all saying what I have been saying for years. I'm heartened to see common sense and good old fashioned values are not dead.

I don't know about that, but a buddy of mine is an NYPD officer working the recovery mission at the World Trade Center, and AT&T Wireless handed out free phones, earpieces and chargers with free airtime to the firefighters, cops, EMS workers, etc that are working the site.

Rumor? I heard the caller's call. I can't verify if it is legit, and The Kimmer's trying to get confirmation.

But there have been scores of these stories about Americans not being able to fly American flags, starting notoriously with that NCCI story on Friday.
