The people who died in the past two days were most likely infected long before last week. The incubation period is in the range of weeks, not days. Sounds like they waited until they were damn near dead before getting ot the hospital. I pray for their families.

Not really, TbV. The Merck Manual says death can occur in 48 to 72 hrs. from inhalation anthrax.
The scary part is that the postal workers were on a week's worth of Cipro, and two of them died anyway. Which leads me to believe that the Daschle letter did indeed contain weapons-grade, antibiotic-resistant strains of anthrax.

The people who died in the past two days were most likely infected long before last week. That's a very good point. With cold and flu season, who would expect that their cough was from anthrax? I have a feeling we are only now seeing the tip of the iceberg.
