Are you familiar with the ansible from Orson Scott Card's novels?

Point of SF faandom: the Ansible was a term coined by Ursula K. LeGuin for her Hainish novels (The Dispossessed, The Left Hand of Darkness, etc.). Many science fiction writers have adopted the term and used it in their novels.

Yeah, I knew that. I just couldn't remember who coined the term all I could remember was that OSC used it often.
