Alexander Cockburn winks at anti-Semitism

In the wink, wink nudge nudge tradition of Pat Buchanan, here is idiosyncratic leftist Alexander Cockburn spreading anti-Semitic bilge while affecting a journalistic, just the facts tone to get in some good old Jew-bashing:

"There are a number of stories sloshing around the news now that have raised discussion of Israel and of the posture of American Jews to an acrid level."

• The purveyor of anthrax may have been a former government scientist of Jewish ethnic extraction with a record of baiting a colleague of Arab origins, acting with the intent to blame the anthrax on Muslim terrorists.
  
  
• Rocketing around the Web and spilling into the press are many stories about Israeli spies in America at the time of 9/11. On various accounts of unknown reliability, they were trailing Atta and his associates, knew what was going to happen but did nothing or were simply spying on U.S. facilities.

Two stories of interest to those who would wish Israel harm. And now Cockburn has handily collected them in one place. How convenient for everyone--including those who would wish Israel harm.

Of course, Cockburn's not suggesting he believes these tales--he's just showing us what is "sloshing around" out there. Out where, I'd ask, having never herad of any of these stories before.

I loved Cockburn's Gore-bashing book "Al Gore: A User's Manual"--almost as good as the Clinton-bashing "No One Left To Lie To" by fellow leftist (an ex-friend) Christopher Hitchens. He's humane when it comes to attacking the soulless purity of deep ecologists who'd wreck Third World living standards in a quest against polluting capitalism.

But he really does have something against those Jews. You wish he'd come out and say it.

cock-burn has a long history of not being very sympathetic to israel so there's nothing new here. no one be takes him seriously. he's a clown.

Get a life. Everyone knows Buchanan says what he means. Being for America first is anti-semitic only to the Israel first and free Pollard crowd.

Buchanan is a nationalist (worried that dark people will dilute American culture, etc.)and a socialist (anti-free-trade, pro-protectionism,etc). Great combination.

Cockburn forgot to make mention of the ethnicity of the biologist who is making the charge against the other biologist. I think Dr. Rosenberg shares the ethnicity with the alleged perp.

The only thing about cockburn that I like is that he writes well. He is very talented in packaging lies in his wonderful prose.

Remember politics is really a circle. The left does meet the right at the extremes.

The Cockburns and the Buchanans are really America lasters.

By G-d's true world order- a nation's blessings and success are directly dependent on how it treats the Jews. Help Jews and the nation prospers. History bears this out.
