A lot of reporters are lazy (big shock,huh?) and if they hang out with these guys they're full of themselves and just take what they're handed or told. They begin to think like the people they hang out with and believe what they're hearing. Why dig deeper if you're lazy? Why challenge them if you like being invited to parties or getting "scoops" or interviews. Professionals? Not by any stretch of the imagination.
