When are farmers and people going to stop using so much of this weedkiller/bugkiller on every lawn and flower or tree that grows? THey are closing down lakes and inlets here in florida from either bacteria (fecal matter) or excess chemicals....it's disgusting. I have a neighbor who is out on her lawn spraying every ant hill and bush in her yard....I'll bet she has 3 headed ants over there. Those chemicals seep into the ground and poisons our water....they have also had to close down some neighborhood wells recently due to excess chemical draining off from farms or nurseries.

Guess no one cares as long as they have a nice yard and perfect fruit.

This reminds me of that skit on the early '80's show "Fridays" where these dudes that had fish mask on and were called "transphibians" would come into this pet store and try to molest the fish in the aquarium. The clerk would get irate and say"Those damn transphibians, they're everywhere you go these days!"Anyone remember that show?I think that Kramer guy on Seinfeld got his start there.

I'm no scientist, but I can attest to the fact that there are fewer and fewer bull frogs around here every year, at this nearby pond. I've been here since the mid nineties, when there were tons of bull frogs. Last year there were perhaps two or three. Every year there is more development, which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing if people didn't have to have golf-course-like lawns.

You got that right! (Who cares about dead lakes and poisoned ground water, anyway? - As long as I've got my own...)

Just yesterday I was watching the news on TV and they mentioned a town overrun by frogs. Thought it was outside San Francisco...did anyone else see this and if so do you know the town or an article on this subject? Thanks.
