"My God, I've even taught kids how to shoot up properly."

The "Safe Drugs" program. (Well, they're going to do it anyway.)

I notice when there's articles like this one about bad priests,it's ok to post it in the regular section, but to post an article about a priest like Fr Capadanno is removed to the "Religion section." It's really kind of disgusting.

A spokesman for the Boston archdiocese, Reverend Christopher Coyne, said the late discovery of the documents was "terribly embarrassing".

Well er, yes, fancy that. I might have gone on to say a bit more, but then I am not constrained, nor am I consigned to spin control. Those that are, might consider given their own theology, just might what be their individual fate.

Reverend Paul Shanley, who was involved with the North American Man Boy Love Association which promotes sex between men and children, also suffered from sexually transmitted diseases, he wrote.

Well, well, does this say it all. Boston, the City of Tolerance. If the whole city falls into the Bay, they have it coming.

The priest should be in jail. However; the BBC and the country in which it resides, have decided that drug laws are not worth enforcing and their schools teach both "safe sex" and "safe drug use". I would say that the hypocrisy is thick even for the leftists in Great Britain.

Mr Shanley, who is now retired and believed to be living in San Diego, California, has never been charged with abuse and has not spoken publicly since the case began.

It is believed that he has relocated to an unknown adress in Thailand.

This particular case is so out there I have to wonder if NAMBLA purposefully sent this guy into the priesthood.

I wonder if the sexually transmitted diseases Shanley suffers from include AIDS. I read on a thread here yesterday that one of the boys he abused has since died.

I am NOT (repeat, NOT) blaming the victim.

But how does this kind of thing happen? Is this wariness of strange adults not taught outside Texas? I am asking in sincerity, not in mockery.

I'm 33. The plaintiff is nine years younger than I am. I have a brother younger than he is. I was taught (as were all my siblings) that if any adult lays a finger on us when our parents aren't in the room, we scream or run or bite or do what-the-hell-EVER, whatever's needed to protect ourselves, and the devil take the consequences.

One of my earliest memories is my parents explaining that grown-ups do bad things to children sometimes, and what to do if I even felt weird, let alone endangered. They did not exempt doctors, teachers, ministers or any other authority figures. Anyone who gave us a bad vibe, we were to suspect. Kids are smart that way sometimes.
