EMINENT DOMAIN CONFERENCE - MAY 29, 2002 - NEW YORK CITY

A conference on eminent domain will be held in New York City on May 29, 2002 at 12 Noon. Scott Bullock, Senior Attorney at the Institute for Justice will be speaking on the subject.

Eminent domain is a power granted to the government to take property for "public use." Increasingly, that power is being used to take private property for private use with no connection whatsoever to "public use." This is an abuse of eminent domain that must be stopped.

Mr. Bullock will discuss methods that can be used to fight eminent domain abuse and will provide an overview of cases where grassroots efforts and legal action by the Institute For Justice have succeeded at stopping this abuse.

Anyone interested in defending their property against eminent domain threats and anyone interested in the principle of private property should attend.
