I just sent a nice little e-mail to Mr. Miersch's company:

Dear Mr. Miersch (or rather, to whom it may concern):

How much did Medicare and insurance companies pay for this?

Timing of this article is impeccible -- I just got a notice that I need to cover a pretty good sized co-pay from my HMO, who happens to have a lux box at one of the NBA arenas. I wonder how much of my premium goes to pay for that and their executive cronies?

Best of all, the companies that own these private sports bubbles can write off approximately 50 percent of their expenses for tax purposes.

Hmmmmm! Good advice for the self employed too.

I wonder if attending a lap dance extravaganza counts too?

This is horrendous! How dare these sports teams do something like this for the rich fat cats when they should be doing something for the people... or animals... or maybe the rainforest.....uh....well just because these people pay thousands of dollars and provide employement and a service to the community doesn't make it right for them to get better service just because they pay more......for....it.....uh....., and ...... uh..... well it should be the peoples stadium anyway.... we should make a law nationalizing all stadiums, and.....sports teams.....and......uh........< /sarcasm>
