Perhaps the assasin, El Said Nossair should be reinterviewed.

I have long harbored a suspicion, and I admit that I think I am alone in this, that the (Poppy) Bush Administration had some advance warning of Nossair's intention to kill Kahane and did nothing. Since the Nixon Administration, when Old George was UN Ambassador to the US (yes, that's how I phrased it), and Kahane's JDL was making life miserable for the Soviet bloc missions, Bush had been gunning for Kahane and his entire organization. The story is told in Dershowitz's first book. About 20 years later Bush is Prez and Kahane is back in NYC rousing the rabble, and the FBI evidently was tapping Nossair's phone -- they later produced some tapes showing Nossair's connection to the 1993 WTC bombing. I have suspected that the FBI had at least an inkling that Nossair was planning to do something to Kahane and deliberately didn't intervene.

In September of 1990, we lived in Cliffside Park, NJ. My wife went to Parent's Day soon after the fall school term began. My daughter had made friends with a little girl named Nora, whose father and mother my wife greeted that day, the father a normal looking somewhat shy man, and the mother a very pale, apparently Caucasian woman wearing Muslim garb who spoke very good English, distinct from her husband, who conspicuously didn't say much at all. The woman told my wife she was so happy that my daughter was Nora's friend, and introduced my wife to her husband. The husband turned out to be a terrorist, and the little girl's name was Nora Nosair. My daughter called my wife at her office a few months later, and said, "Do you know that Rabbi who was killed? It was Nora's father who killed him". My Jewish wife proceeded to freak out.
