The fact that Saffi was last in the United States on Sept. 7, 2001 and entered through LAX on this trip might inspire a few more questions by the FBI before sending him back to NZ, one would hope.

In fact, officials said, he intended to attend a four-day aviation course at Miami's Aeroservice Aviation Center -- the same flight school used by a September 11 hijacker -- to re-certify his license to fly Boeing 747s. This is surreal.

WTH is going on, 4 days before 9/11. Good grief, too many coincidences for my tastes.

"All of the circumstances involved are pretty disturbing," Goldman said. I'll say.

We should send him back in small pieces to his step-dad with notes reminding Saddam that we're thinking of him.

I have a better idea.
First we find a good horse, then get a nice long rope, then look for a tree with a nice strong branch, and re-enact the hanging of Major Andre.

Trade this dirtbag for the Gulf War pilot who Saddam has kept under wraps for over a decade.

Let's see we will warn the country that we are on high alert but then if something happens we will give them the usual nothing to see here move along BS.

When I read the thread heading I knew there had to be a South Florida connection (As there ALWAYS is) and this belief was confirmed as soon as I read the story.

Most of their administrative personnel are in front of microphones explaining to anybody who'll listen that an Egyptian-born man who leaves a note on his door to "Read the Koran", and that sprays gunfire on strangers at an Israeli airline is merely a troubled individual having an "isolated" moment.
As for the FBI agents, most of them are in class learning to tell the difference between a Pontiac and an Accord, followed by target practice shooting Boy Scout profiles at a range of 3 feet.

Hussein persuaded her husband to divorce her... I'm sure that wasn't difficult.
Jetliners could still be a threat, through potential terrorists who are already behind the stick in the cockpits. It seems like all the Middle Eastern, (and I'm sure some American and Eurpopean) airliners would have some potential kamikazes in their ranks.

The INS source expects Saffi to be deported within the next few days.I hope this is a smoke screen. He should be questioned for a long, long time and made miserable enough to give some answers.

If we won't make some suitable excuse for keeping him as an 'honored guest', i.e. hostage the CIA should be his shadow for some time to come.
