Topless Car Wash Raising Eyebrows, Questions

A topless car wash is raising eyebrows and questions in Moscow, Idaho. Is it a case of indecency, or women exercising their civil rights? That's a question Moscow's City Council will answer this week. "We had about four days to come up with four hundred dollars," said Daisy Mace, one of the topless car washers.

Mace and some of her roommates needed to earn rent money, and they had to earn it fast. The out of work roommates looked around for ideas and landed on a plan for a topless car wash. The gimmick worked.

"We were washing cars nonstop from ten o'clock in the morning until four o'clock in the evening," said Mace. "We were washing two at a time and they were lined up on the street. I couldn't even keep count of how many cars we washed."

However some people in Moscow think the only thing the shirtless car washers should clean up is their act.

"I have to say that I don't think that's okay for people to be topless doing a car wash," said Chris Bofenkamp. "I have a teenage son. He'd probably like it, but I don't."

The City Council is putting the topless issue on the fast track. Monday night, council members will determine the fate of an emergency ordinance that would require bikini tops. And you can bet Daisy Mace will be there. Mace says the topless car wash may have started as a quick way to earn money, but it's turned into a political stand for civil rights.

"They're trying to take our rights away again," said Mace.

Breasts are not defined as indecent by Idaho state law. So if the Moscow City Council passes the ordinance, the law would be among the most conservative in the state.

Hey, now. It's Dog's Jeep. I don't even own a Jeep. If I did I'd wash it myself, and I do it topless if it darn well suited me , thankyouverymuch. If I was in Idaho, I might even go help the girls wash cars - just to help out with the rent, of course.

My main question is are they a full-service Car Wash? For isntance to they offer services like "buffing the Hood" or "Polishing the Knob" or can you "get your oil checked"?
