Do you not recall why Paul was writing these things? It is because the Jews loved to "prove" how worthy they were by showing their "endless genealogies", and their uninterrupted lineage right back to Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham. They thought that meant they were "saved."
FWIW, if "genealogies" of this kind are "forbidden," better throw out Matthew Chapter One.
