I'm a religious guy, and I agree. The primary reasons for not doing this are that: 1) some boys will inevitably be molested (as in Boy Scouts in years past, or as in the Catholic Church) and 2) the vast, vast majority of parents don't want homosexuals conditioning their young sons to start thinking about men in a sexual way. But I would also point out that the gay rights groups show absolutely no respect for people's honestly held religious belief that God does not condone things like anal intercourse. On that score, we should live and let live. Gays can lead their lives the way they want. If they want to engage in promiscuous anal intercourse with lots of anonymous partners, that's really their business. Religious people can lead their lives they way they want (including teaching their children what they believe). BUt I'm glad we agree here - putting boys and young men in the company of homosexual men who are sexually attracted to them is stupid and dangerous.
Or even better - the homosexuals with the preference for the young should be taking care of the elderly of the opposite sex. This way they still can do good deeds and the temptation is removed. Old people need help too!

We had a big ruckus with the Boy Scout issue in our town, and all the parents kept asking one young (active) homosexual man why he felt the strong need and desire to be an assistant scoutmaster. He kept saying that he wanted to contribute to society. We all said fine, just do that where you're not sexually tempted by the teenage boys around you. When asked if the boys in the troop sexually tempted him, he could not answer in the negative.

If they have a "right" to engage in this sin, then maybe these "celebate" priests that like young boys are just exercising the same "right".

I think people are gay due to either a malfunction in their brain -- or a maturing that doesn't take place around age 12 or younger. They never make the break from best buddies to liking the opposite sex. But, there could be many causes of homosexuality. I just think it is an arrested development of the chemistry of the brain.

I think the lifestyles of many homosexuals are absolutely disgusting, perverse, dangerous, and self-damaging. But it's a free country. They don't have to share my religious beliefs (though I think they would be greatly helped if they did!), or my beliefs about sexuality. However, when they get near my kids, WATCH OUT! There is no right to that. As for the Catholic Church (my church), that church has allowed thousands of priests to ignore their vows, ignore God's word on homosexual behavior, and to rape, spiritually and physically, thousands of teenage boys. To me (and millions of others), that's an abomination.

The thread is locked, it is an old thread, and we can't post replies on it. So I am replying to that thread here. Anal sex is where AIDs comes from! It breaks the skin, germs and etc. get inside the skin, in the bloodstream, etc. Mutliple partners having anal sex, sharing dirty needles, and presto! AIDs.... Then they want more millions from USA to fight AIDs worldwide. My 21 year old son keeps saying they know what they have to do to prevent AIDs already!!!!! He calls anal sex Ru Ru. He says No More Ru Ru = no more AIDs.
I have a couple of homosexual friends I've known since high school. Their lives have been hell also. Their relationships are fluid and volatile, they are both compelled to seek anonymous partners in places like parking lots and over the internet, one has AIDs, one is alcoholic. To me, homosexuality is a severe mental illness (which in many cases can be cured). I have compassion for them, and as a religious guy, I don't think they'll escape their hell without God's help.

It just seems that there is no value to doing the right thing anymore, period. We need to take this country back from the ones who want to destroy it from within.
Anal homosexual intercourse among anonymous and promiscuous partners is the primary cause of the AIDs crisis in this country (along with gay organizations' refusing to institute common sense reporting procedures required for ALL other communicable diseases). Your son is right.
I think it is more environmental and self-choice.
Sexual gratification is such an overpowering urge in some that they will try many different ways to gratify their urges. If they think that nothing is wrong with homosexual behavior then they will try that method for sexual gratification. They are either recruited by homosexual adults or pressured from their peers. Once they are introduced into that lifestyle they find it difficult to change back to normal behavior.
Homosexuals are never born that way! What if a bunch of men that performed cunnilingus on their wives started an activist pressure group and demanded that society grant them special treatment because of their sexual behavior? It would be the same as the homosexual movement.
