[history]
San Francisco -- Rounding a corner near San Francisco's Presidio parade grounds, they looked like something out of the past: the first in a convoy of 30 classic Citroen sedans, with horns blaring and French flags fluttering.
With their antique, rolling lines and stuffed-to-the-gills luggage racks, the automobiles -- ranging in vintage from 1934 to 1957 -- seemed as if they belonged in a French countryside scene from a Jean Renoir film.

Darn, just when I give up on the French they do stuff like this. Unpredictable folks they are.

Say what you want about the French, but Citroens are great cars.

Hmmm. Well, maintenance is a pain in this country, with no dealership network. My dad had a couple of DS station wagons. They were extremely comfortable to ride in, handled well, were well designed, and had few problems. On the other hand, I understand that the 2CVs were like Tin Lizzies.
The Travants mentioned in this article mostly have at least couple of hundred thousand miles on them. They can't be that bad.

hate to disagree, had a 1956 DS19......sure its suspensions/brake system was a nightmare. I still recall the first time our mechanic Jacques told me about the Spheres....
Spheres ? what da' f ?.
But the long stroke engine was a dream running on the highway.....and it was seriously roomy...... I bought it in 1982 and kept it for 3-4 years.
