SEVERAL DEAD IN BLAST AT JERUSALEM'S HEBREW UNIVERSITY - POLICE | |
JERUSALEM, July 31 (Reuters) - A bomb blast tore through a cafeteria at Jerusalem's Hebrew University on Wednesday, causing at least 30 casualties, police and ambulance officials said. Police called the explosion at the entrance to the Frank Sinatra Dining Hall a Palestinian attack. Ambulances rushed to the university's Mount Scopus campus near Arab East Jerusalem, and emergency workers carried dozens of people out on stretchers. It was not immediately known whether anyone was killed in the blast. The explosion followed a Palestinian suicide bombing in Jerusalem on Tuesday in which the bomber killed himself and wounded four people.
