Right to Life of Michigan Issues Warning to All Voters

Grand Rapids, Mich. – Right to Life of Michigan President Barbara Listing issued a warning to all Michigan voters trying to sort out fact from fiction in the Democratic gubernatorial primary. Listing’s comments focused on Attorney General Jennifer Granholm’s deceptive skill at playing both sides of an issue.

“Jennifer Granholm has mastered the Bill Clinton technique of saying one thing, while implying another, and many times not really saying anything at all,” Listing said. “Every voter, prolife or otherwise, should be suspicious of this type of deceptive political character. Granholm’s primary opponents are justified in questioning whether she will be reliable and trustworthy regarding her position on any subject.

“Jennifer Granholm claims to believe life begins at conception, and touts her commitment to her Catholic faith, all the while supporting the right to destroy unborn children through abortion. She says she is ‘a voice for the voiceless,’ unless that voiceless person is in the womb. When asked for her position regarding the ban on tax-funded abortions or parental consent laws for minor-aged girls’ abortions, she punts. The public strongly supports these laws, but the pro-abortion groups that have endorsed her oppose them. Clearly her positions are not based on deeply held convictions. She has even admitted that she won’t give policy specifics because her political handlers won’t let her,” Listing said.

Our nation lived through eight embarrassing years of Clinton’s double speak in the White House. Michigan does not need that in the governor’s mansion.

“We have learned that a candidate who won’t give straight answers on a black-and-white issue like abortion is not dependable on other issues as well. Let the voters beware,” Listing said.

I'd be curious to know exactly what she says on the issues. Just how can you "punt" on tax-funded abortions or parental consent? It would seem to me that there's little wiggle room. You're either for them or against them.

Those ads she's been running "warning" bonoir and blanchard about their "negative" campaigns are DISGUSTING. Pretending to take the high road is the ultimate in hypocrisy.

Though I had planned to vote in the Republican primary tomorrow, it's a woman's right to change her mind.

I HATE that she may be the next governor. I don't want to have to FReep locally that much the next 4 years. I must say, though, I've thought about FReeping Engler more than once the past year or so.
