She did say pump action "guns" not shotguns. I wonder if she would consider the motion of jacking the first round into the chamber of a semi-auto a "pump action".

Opens up a whole new category, don't it?

Basically, they want to outlaw anything but old-style long weapons such as bolt-action rifles and single shot or double barrel shotguns. And then they'll start demanding those as well...

Regardless of whether this could be extended to include semi-autos, it does indeed open a very large can of worms.

In addition to the numerous pump-action shotguns which are thought to be untouchable by the "sporting purposes" hunting crowd, there is also this:

The Remington 7600 centerfire rifle is one of the most popular big-game hunting rifles in North America. It's fairly accurate, it's not too expensive, it is available in most popular calibers, and... it's a pump-action.

IIRC, there is also a Browning pump-action rifle which is based on the semi-auto BAR (the hunting rifle, not the combat weapon) which is quite popular.

Everyone... cross-post this article to as many hunting websites as you can find. We might just nudge another 1 or 2 percent of gun owners into more serious activism. Can't hurt to try.

After Columbine, I saw repeated comments about most of the fatal shots coming from a shotgun, while the anti-gunners went nuts over the Hi-Point "assault weapon". This just goes to show that our foes are patient and tenacious.
