The remaining $26,000 was donated to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee's New York Senate 2000, a soft money account set up on Clinton's behalf.

Huh? She is going to "donate" the money in question to a "charity," which would be a fund set up for HER???

Am I missing something here? Did I misunderstand.

The way I read that sentence is the $26,000 was donated by ImClone to the generic 2000 state senate democrat campaign - - basically, to Hillary.

Your right. The money will go to "The Clinton Defense" fund. Of course, it is not a bona fide charity but there is no controlling legal authority concerning that fund yet. So if HiLIARy says it is a charity, it is until the trial and all appeals have been exhausted. And then she'll pull a Dasshole and have a rider to some Bill declare it a charity.
