Our responsibility now is to turn it into a century of hopes fulfilled, a century of sustained and sustainable development that enriches all our peoples without impoverishing our planet.

Every country must want to achieve what they are capable of, America cannot do it for them.

An economist at Columbia, professor Sala-i-Martin, stresses the fact that focusing on countries rather than people will distort the truth. Africa* is doing poorly, but China has more than twice the population (whose lower income population is growing only second in the world to America's). His theory, income by individuals provides a more valid perspective. The rich continue to become wealthier, but so do the poor, only at a slower pace. Unlike the Leftist propaganda, the poor did not become poorer, they also got richer!

*Africa - political corruption is prevention economic prosperity
