CINCINNATI, Ohio (CNN) -- A Saturday celebration of African-American families and youth was tainted by a violent outburst. A large crowd of teens leaving a concert organized by the annual Midwest Regional Black Family Reunion Celebration became disorderly, tipping over garbage cans, tables, and chairs at the event on the city's south side, according to Lt. Kurt Byrd, a spokesman for the city's police department. ME: Did Reparations folks incide a riot and violate 18 USC Sec. 2101 (at http://uscode.house.gov/usc.htm )?

1) The statute; 2) Some of the most pertinent facts:

http://uscode.house.gov/usc.htm

18 USC Sec. 2101

Riots: (a) Whoever travels in interstate or foreign commerce or uses any facility of interstate or foreign commerce, including, but not limited to, the mail, telegraph, telephone, radio, or television, with intent -

(1) to incite a riot; or

(2) to organize, promote, encourage, participate in, or carry on a riot; or

(3) to commit any act of violence in furtherance of a riot; or

(4) to aid or abet any person in inciting or participating in or carrying on a riot or committing any act of violence in furtherance of a riot; and who either during the course of any such travel or use or thereafter performs or attempts to perform any other overt act for any purpose specified in subparagraph (1), (2), (3), or (4) of this subsection - Shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned not more than five years, or both.

Here's SOME of the stuff that was communicated to those at Saturday's MillionsForReparations.COM demonstration in D.C., not to mention to folks not in attendance by way of the media, and probably by cellphone and the like:

"I want to go up to the closest white person and say, 'You can't understand this, it's a black thing,' and then slap him, just for my mental health." -Charles Barron, a member of the New York City Council

"Remember Inglewood, California!" [not far from where the Rodney riots took place a decade ago]. "The next time we come here, we're gonna take over the U.S. Treasury." -Louis Farrakhan

"Pass reparations, or pass the ammunition." -President of the new black panther party

"Black power! Black power! BLACK POWER!" -practically every speaker at that Reparations rally.

I'm sure that absolutely NONE of this had any impact on what transpired in Cincinnati soon thereafter??? How about on future civil unrest? If all the alleged culprits were instead caucasian, wouldn't there be some very busy lawyers and potential defendants right now?

All things considered, the timing seems right on several levels....
What with the middle east, islamic terrorism, etc.

Were any of us Freepers in Los Angeles a decade ago, or in Watts, CA. during the 1960's, or in any other previously riot-affected cities such as Washington D.C. or Chicago? It's not exactly a pleasant thing to have to be concerned with, is it...

Indeed, Louis Farrakhan publicly brought up the notion yesterday of fighting here at home instead of in Iraq... If the anti-riot law isn't enforced when it's probably been broken, then couldn't more instances arise whereby it's CLEARLY been broken (along with a lot of people's bones)?

He blamed the melee on the large number of unsupervised youth at the late night concert

I'd have thought he would assign blame to the 'past generations of victims of black slavery which, although has no reasonabe rationale to do so, compounds the vast anger in the youth of today.'

Perhaps there should be whites rioting. Can you imagine what would happen if a white said things like this? I'd like to slap Mr. Barron silly....it's a white thing.

"Remember Inglewood, California!"
????
Someone needs to help me out on this one...

Inglewood IS mostly a black community, it is not TOO far from the part of Normandy in S. Central where the riots were filmed in their most virulent expression...
[they actually started at Parker Center (downtown) when a bunch of largely white protesters lit a guard shack on fire]
The riots were almost all across the metropolitan area...
certanly not only in Inglewood.

And, most residents would resent any other implication.

Calypso Louie might have been referring to the 16 year old who got punched (on video, again) during an arrest for allegedly grabbing one of the Cop's noogies.

I lived in Detroit when the riots broke out in the 60's.

>>>The enemy is truly within.<<<

And it's getting bolder each time the law's not enforced, too. By the way, I believe I heard that Farrakhan said a decade ago that those Blacks who literally cracked innocent bystander Reginald Denny's skull during the Rodney Riots weren't really breaking the law...because a state of nature had emerged and the Constitution no longer applied.

And on the Mall in D.C. yesterday (live on national t.v.) Louie was justifying Mugabe's violence against caucasian farmers in Zimbabwe saying that Mugabe was merely reclaiming what was once black people's territory (even though in actuality 80% of White-owned farms in Zimbabwe were acquired SINCE Rhodesia became independent and changed into Zimbabwe around 1980, according to

http://www.washingtontimes.com/world/20020818-10829836.htm ).

Yes, he was. And that 16 year old weighed 300 pounds and was 6'5, if I remember correctly. Fortunately the gas station ALSO had video surveillance coverage of what transpired, and there were indeed some aggressive actions made against the police by the supposed victims.

I didn't even think to mention Detroit. Thanks for bringing it up. Does it not seem that rioters can be influenced by actions like those of the money-grubbing (and perhaps deep-pocketed) http://www.MillionsForReparations.COM crew? Does anybody know any bold plaintiffs lawyers in Ohio (especially in Cincinnati) who ought to know about this new thread?

This couldn't have happened

Farrakan's Million Man March several years back changed the Black community for the better

Maybe by "Million Man March" he meant "million listeners, scattered throughout the country"? Some may very well have been tuned in yesterday. People could conceivably make a lot of money off of this violation of our civil rights by the deep-pocketed folks of http://www.millionsforreparations.com .

I was in Mo Town. Believe it or not the 67 riot was not nearly as anti-white as any of the ones in LA.

I bet you take riots pretty seriously as a result of that unnerving experience, though. What right does Farrakhan and his other deep-pocketed allies with MillionsForReparations.com have to cause folks like you such (potentially actionable) emotional distress? Our rights are only going to be respected if we demand that they're respected.

From a friend in Cincy :

Yeah...welcome to Cincinnati.
This sh*t is no surprise here.
Urban blacks are ultra-violent here in the home of Hate Whitey.
Assaults on whites who frequent the Main Street entertainment district
are a nightly occurence.
I will say though that the area that these incidents occured are in the
heart of the city. That's a bit more brazen than usual.
We have an ongoing boycott by twisted blacks who are the mouthpiece
dissent and division. They're called the Black United Front.Friendly sounding, ain't it??
They've succeeded in getting Bill Cosby,Wynton Marsalis,Whoopi Goldberg, and Smokey Robinson to cancel their appearances. That shows me what those entertainers are all about.
My concern is the steadily growing calls for financial reparations for slavery.
That will cause sh*t that I don't want to think about.
If that cause comes to fruition, look for lynchings to make a return in the South.
Who knows what else...

That's why we have anti riot-incitement laws, which the MillionsForReparations folks appear to have potentially violated. What's the next step?
