One of the big problems I see here is the liberal bias of the media. They are supposed to act as watchdogs for agencies like the FBI, instead they more often act like cheerleaders, particularly when they perceive that the people the FBI are going after are, horrors, right-wingers.

One reason why I'm watching Fox. I'd rather watch it for news than the BBC.

Indeed. I noticed he choked on quoting the motto of the ACLU.

Exactly right. The media would love to pin the anthrax murders on "right wingers." Their greatest fear is that it was actually perpetrated by Al Queida with antrax manufactured and weaponized by Iraq. War would ensue. Politically correct libralism would be out of favor and Bush would become an unstoppable "war president." Best for their commie cause if they can pin it on someone else. Hatfill isn't having any of it though.

Left-wing though it is, CNN just broadcast, through the mouth of Steven Hatfill, the facts that the 9/11 hijackers were in Florida and New Jersey and that Iraq has almost certainly gotten its hands on the Ames strain of anthrax. I bet that's the first a lot of CNN's audience heard of this.

What's more, Wolf Blitzer and his two expert guests, one of them a retired deputy director of the FBI, proceeded, in their discussion of what Hatfill had said, to talk as if it was more than possible that foreign Islamofascists were behind the anthrax letters.
