Executioner's job is to kill Palestinians who help Israel
Knight Ridder Newspapers | September 6, 2002

TULKAREM, West Bank - The man ignored the two Palestinian women's prayers for forgiveness. Each time, he stood over them, put a gun to their foreheads and pulled the trigger.

"Jarira," as he's called in the al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, doesn't look like a killer in his Giovanni T-shirt, faded blue jeans and Nike sneakers. But he is the executioner, and it's his job to kill anyone that the Palestinian terrorist group thinks is helping the Israelis.

The married father of two doesn't like to talk about his work, but in a rare interview this week, the officer in this militia linked to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat tried to explain the frontier justice he metes out.

The 9 mm semi-automatic handgun that he used to execute Ikhklas Khouli, 35, and her niece, Rajah Ibrahim, 18, sat on a table before him in a Brigades "safe house." They were the first women killed for collaborating with Israel during the current Palestinian uprising.

Jarira said he did the women a favor by killing them, because they might have faced crueler deaths at the hands of their neighbors for the crimes they committed. If their neighbors didn't get them, he said, the women would have been killed by the Israelis to protect their agents' identities.

"It wasn't done brutally," Jarira said. "I'm not just here for the sake of carrying out murders."

Jarira, who's on the run from Israeli authorities and won't give his real name, killed the two women in late August, only days apart. He said they were his first "assignment," but his friends say he's killed others among the 40 or more Palestinians who've been accused of collaborating with Israel since the uprising began in late September 2000. Israel relies on Palestinian informants to thwart terrorist attacks and find militants on its most-wanted list.

The number of collaborators is growing, al Aqsa leaders say. The conflict with Israel has left most Palestinians impoverished, and many informants are recruited for as little as $25. Others are coerced through blackmail or with offers they can't refuse, such as medical treatment for sick loved ones.

Such stories don't elicit much sympathy from al Aqsa's inquisitors or from executioners such as Jarira.

Neighbors said the two women were dragged from their homes and beaten before they were subjected to a makeshift al Aqsa trial. Both confessed to helping to orchestrate the killings of two al Aqsa leaders, in January and in August, at the request of a relative who was working with Israeli agents.

Khouli said she had ordered her son to monitor the movements of Ziad Daas, a popular leader of the al Aqsa Brigades. An Israeli commando killed Daas on Aug. 7.

In a confession that her al Aqsa captors videotaped hours before she was executed, Khouli said she did not know Daas would be killed. When she learned of his death, she said, "I felt numb. I was hysterical."

In her own taped confession, Ibrahim described planting an Israeli mine beneath a dirt road in front of a Tulkarem cemetery in January. The mine killed Raed al Karmi, the leader of the local chapter of the al Aqsa Brigades, who had been lured to the scene by a promise of sex with one of Ibrahim's friends.

"I urge all the mothers and fathers to keep an eye out for their children, so as not to fall in the same crime as I have," Ibrahim, dark circles under her eyes, said in the confession. "I regret very, very much the fact that I have been a participant in the making of such a martyr from our home.

"Anyone who commits such a crime, his punishment should be execution," she said.

Neither woman admitted to having direct contact with Israeli agents or to receiving money. They said they took orders from Ali Yassin, Khouli's brother, who threatened them with bodily harm if they didn't cooperate.

Khouli's 17-year-old son, Bakir, also was branded a collaborator, but was sentenced only to 30 lashes on his back, which Jarira carried out with an electrical cord. Bakir and his six siblings are now orphans, ostracized and in hiding somewhere outside Tulkarem with Ibrahim's mother and other family members.

Yassin fled to Israel, leaving the women to face al Aqsa's justice.

Jarira said the evidence against the women was sound. His boss, Faez Jabar, provided few details about the trial or the people who served as judge and jury, calling them only "academics."

"They've been trained by Americans to lead the interrogations. We do it in a very modern way, the American way, as one might call it," Jabar said.

Both women were executed in the courtyard of an abandoned building, 300 yards from their homes. Tulkarem was under curfew on both afternoons, and al Aqsa witnesses to the killings said neighbors called out from their windows for the executions to take place in the main square.

In a city where the Palestinian Authority no longer has control, there is precedence for that type of lynch-mob mentality. In April, masked gunmen entered the city's jailhouse and shot eight accused collaborators at point-blank range. The bodies were then dragged around the city's main square in front of jeering crowds.

All of al Aqsa's actions are aimed at driving out Israeli occupiers from Palestinian territory and creating an independent Palestinian state next to the Jewish one, Jarira said. It's a cause that mandates Palestinian unity.

"There is no excuse for anyone to become a collaborator," he said. "Israel is to blame. Why do they use women, mothers, sisters and children as collaborators?"

Asked why the women received a death sentence while Khouli's son was only whipped, Jarira's boss bristled.

"I'm beginning to resent being asked about this," said Jabar, leader of the Brigades' Tulkarem branch. "These two weren't women. They don't deserve to be called that. (Khouli) doesn't deserve to be a mother."

Jarira described such cases as a "very sensitive issue." "We are doing our best to try and be fair and make sure we're doing the right thing."

The al Aqsa tribunal ordered the women to wash and pray before he shot them, Jarira added.

"We told them, `You are going to die, so if you pray, maybe God will forgive you.' "

I'm assuming the UN thinks this is fine because the Palistinians are doing it, but if the Israeli's did this there'd be pc outrage.

In the West Bank town of Tulkarem, framed Palestinian Ikhlas Khouli, 35
was killed by Palestinians. Her son, 17-year-old Bakir Khouli,
was tortured by the Palestinians until he invented
a story about his mother. After her death, he meets with neighbors at home
shows his scars, and cries.
Ikhlas Khouli was tortured and slaughtered
in the Palestinian fashion (approved by the EU and UN).
The family photo of Ikhlas Khouli and her son Bakir is a far cry
from her bullet-riddled body dumped in Tulkarem under Islamic "justice".

In Tulkarem, terrorist Arafat's Fatah terrorists murdered Rajaa Ibrahim who was killed
by the Al Aqsa Brigades and Arafat's Fatah murderers who are sponsored by the UN and EU.

And these people believe they somehow deserve a country of their own?

And there are purportedly civilized countries that agree with them?

Give them Zimbabwe!

Omigosh! I get it!

All of a sudden, it just clicked!!! I now understand why liberals LOVE these Palestinian terrorist types so much!

It's all because of their shared values of compassion and tolerance!

Uhm, I thought the American way was to give prisoners cable t.v., free gyms and unlimited appeals. Since when did we start shooting women in the head? I must have missed that one on CNN.

Why do they use women, mothers, sisters and children as collaborators?"

'Cause they object to their children being "martyred" in the name of the moon god and Arafat's Swiss bank accounts?

If anyone doubts that the US is in the right, and radical Islam is in the wrong, think about what you just read.

As much as I decry the actions taken against these women by their countrymen, I can only believe that such actions are beginning to turn the Islamic rank and file against their Islamanazi oppressors.

These people we are about to fight are pure unmitigated evil, folks. This is what it comes down to in my mind, good vs. evil.

President Bush has taken the stance that we are going to put a boot in Iraq's ass in order to safeguard our own way of life. Let's not forget the collateral good which will come from this struggle; the unshackling of the Iraqi people from a murderous tin-horn dictator. That's just as important as depriving Saddam of WMD, IMHO.

We are about to enter a critical stage in the life of our country. Our troops, President Bush, and our British allies need our support NOW! We need to come to grips with the fact that a dictator, some sultans, and a large band of cutthroats are trying to destroy us. We need to tell wuss democrats, the Colin Powell cabal, and our spineless so-called allies to get on board, or shut the F*** up and get out of our way.

Saddam must go, and not only must he go, but he must die.

It's sad that not even one year has passed since the mass murder of thousands of innocent people, and various bungholios in this country (including Republicans who ought to know better) seem to have forgotten the carnage and the rage which gripped us all on September 11th.

FWIW, I happen to agree with those who say Bush has no right to go to war without a declaration of war by the congress. We attacked a sovereign nation, Afghanistan, without a declaration of war, and we got away with it because it was a few scant months after the attack, and because we weren't attacking a government so much as a bunch of Islamic loons with blood on their hands. We are now about to attack another sovereign nation, Iraq. Yes, we are attacking terrorism, but we will also be invading another country over a year after the attacks. Liberals in this country have had time now for their patriotism to wane, and their anger to subside. They will be, as they have shown, a thorn in the side of our military. This is where they are comfortable. And again I say to them, get on board or shut up and get out of the way. The grownups need to clean up some shit in the yard.

I fully urge Dubya to ask for a declaration of war against Irag; it will force our pantywaist politicians to put up or shut up, and they will have to go on record.

And Dubya, it's time to finish the job and roast Saddam's schnuts on a poker. Pay no attention to Colin Powell; don't make the same mistake your father did......

Well, these guys play rough but they are fair. Troubled times call for resolve and firm action. But, I have to admit that I hope no one says anything about the secret conversation that Arafat's wife had with Major Jacov Abramovitz of Mossad/IDF at aprox. 8:00 AM on August 21, 2002 regarding the importation by small boat of several tons of small arms. Most of these weapons (hand guns) would have been distributed to the general population rather than to Arafat's people. It was much easier to have Arafat use his wife's private contacts with the IDF to terminate the shipment and the 17 heros delivering it than for Arafat to try to stop them on the street with his own people. But, we never knew the Palestinians would treat folks who dealt with the IDF this harshly. Geez, please keep this quiet and don't say anything about Jake and Mrs. Arafat!!

“Hello, Raed? Blessings of allah to you.”

“Hello Ibrahim, allah’s blessings upon you as well.”

“I have special present for you Raed. Remember that young Dromedary with the legs nice?”

“Ahhhhh... may the prophet forget me if I ever forget her odour, her hump...”

“You must come out to our ‘special place’ tonight.”

“Ibrahim!! You mean... me and her? Jihad can wait, I’ll bring the stool.”

Standard Mossad and/or IDF policy should be to execute the "executioner" - they know who he is - make it real personal.
