GOP rival presses for Mink health status

Republican congressional candidate Bob McDermott today said the public has a right to know the medical condition of U.S. Rep. Patsy Mink, who has been hospitalized for pneumonia. "When you're running for Congress, this is a high federal office," McDermott said. "I can tell you as a public figure ... you don't have that much privacy. We have limited privacy. So I am asking that they be forthcoming with her medical condition. Is she unconscious? She hasn't released a statement. Is she able to speak? Can she walk on her own? I think these are all valid questions that the voters before the primary election have a right to know."

Many think Mink has died and has been stuffed and taken back into the hospital and refitted with the usual tubes and hardware with the monitors actually hooked up to another patient in the next room...

I just hope McDermott isn't crucified for asking these very simple questions, but I fear he will be. Voters should be demanding to know this information. Electing an ill, aged woman to Congress is disrespectful to the office. (Gawd, it's hard for me to write that!)

... given Mink's communist tendencies, when you phrased things this way I couldn't help but think of Lenin's corpsicle.

Rumour is that the body in the hospital has "moved" in a significant manner to show election officials that there is "life".

That is great...

McDermott is a righteous dude - I had the opportunity to meet him in person, before he was elected to the state house. I saw his weekly program one night on public access cable - I couldn't believe there was a haole boy running around in Kalihi, harassing the mayor about all of the abandoned cars in a poor neighborhood. Called him the next day, & we agreed to meet at my Puuhale office the following Saturday. He laid out a family-oriented, generally conservative political agenda. I have to admit that I thought he'd be chewed up in the local Democratic machine, but had to admit that the guy's got courage. And lookie now, he made it, & is pressing onward & upward. Semper Fi, dude!

Bob is the bomb, he'd be a much needed improvement over Pinko Patsy.

What hospital is that (in the rumor)? I don't watch TV or listen to the radio -- all my news comes from FreeRepublic & LibertyForum these days, but there's not a whole lot about local issues at these sources...

Advertiser Boo-Boos --->

http://the.honoluluadvertiser.com/article/2002/Sep/21/br/cong.html

They called Mr. Bob a "10 year" member of the state house, but he's only been a member for what, 6 years?

The photo halfway down shows (Mazie Hirono?) but the caption says Lingle.

No boo-boo here, but I'm glad to see Djou in the lead (I voted for him when I lived over in Ahuimanu)

The gears were turning for a replacement last weekend when the Punk McCauliff visited Hawaii.

Besides bringing cash and paid "volunteers" to circumvent Federal and State contribution laws, he was obviously in Hawaii to interview the "replacements".

It is just a matter of time to see the ants scurrying about...

Whoa, the article you linked to has a MAJOR admission!!!!!!

Under state law, Mink has until Oct. 16 to withdraw from the election for medical reasons. However, that would leave the Democrats without a candidate to face Republican state Rep. Bob McDermott ( news, bio, voting record) in the general election.
