FROM PARADES TO NEW VOTING SYSTEM DEMONSTRATIONS, THE GWINNETT GOP IS EVERYWHERE!

Final Countdown to Elections Sees Flurry of Gwinnett Republican Party Activity

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga., October 3, 2002 ­It's five weeks before the November 5th elections, and for the next month, Gwinnett County Republicans will be everywhere throughout the county, going gangbusters to get their message out.

"It's so important for folks to get out there and vote," said Buzz Brockway, chairman of the Gwinnett County Republican Party. "Our job is to equip voters with the information they need to do just that."

The busy calendar for the next month includes:

· Saturday, Oct. 5 ­ Gwinnett County GOP Breakfast. The program will feature two stateside candidates ­ Doug Everett (Public Service Commission candidate) and Deanna Strickland (Commissioner of Agriculture candidate) and the state chairman of the Republican Party, Ralph Reed.

· Saturday, Oct. 5 ­ Republicans will canvass Gwinnett County neighborhoods, getting candidates? messages to voters.

· Saturday, Oct. 5 ­ The Norcross Fall Festival will feature Congressman John Linder as well as a delegation of Gwinnett GOP members who will march in the Festival?s parade.

· Thursday, Oct. 10 ­ The Gwinnett GOP monthly meeting will feature Gene Callaway, House District 69 Post 2 candidate, and Jimmy Hercheck, Senate District 5 candidate. 7:30 at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Building, 1st Floor cafeteria.

· Saturday, Oct. 12 ­ Lilburn Daze, where Gwinnett Republicans will have a booth with information on candidates and issues.

· Saturday, Oct. 26 ­ Sugar Hill Fall Festival, with Congressman Saxby Chambless, candidate for U.S. Senate, in attendance.

· Saturday, Nov. 2 ­ Gwinnett County GOP Breakfast will feature Lynn Ledford, Election Supervisor in Gwinnett County, who will demonstrate the new voting system that will be in use in Gwinnett on Nov. 5.

*All events are open to the public.
