A student died after being flung 100 feet into the air by a huge catapult.
The 19 year old was taking part in a stunt at the Middlemoor Water Park in Woolavington near Bridegwater, Somerset, on Sunday.
He sustained serious injuries at the scene and was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol where he died at 1930 GMT Saturday.
The 50 foot tall catapult is designed to fling a person on to a safety net which is secured above the ground.

These idiots forgot to take into account the mass of the object being thrown. It varies from person to person, and for some, it obviously varied greatly.

Wasn't the same thing tried in a Monte Python skit, with the same results?

Police in Bridgwater have launched a full investigation into the incident in association with the Health and Safety Executive.
Let's hope their launch is more successful than this guy's was.

The Darwin Awards ought to be pretty interesting this year......boobs like this and all the ones trying Jackass stunts at home should make for spirited balloting when the time comes to vote for the Darwin Trophy winner.

We need these catapults on the U.S.-Mexican boarder to catapult those illegals back into Mexico.
