The Good Book is old hat in Marin County, where the teachings of Gautama Buddha and a host of New Age spiritualists are beginning to eclipse the Bible as the most prevalent guidebook for a better life.

A recently released survey by San Francisco's Institute of Jewish and Community Research shows that a far higher percentage of people in Marin County than in the rest of the country embrace alternative religions or no religion at all.

Goes right along with what I was saying earlier in relation to "Dispel Mark of Beast Phobia", replace cards with biometrics, 100 million users, pilot launched The Govt is hoping the christian faith becomes watered down as can be seen by such items from the article as these:

Failure To Enroll (goats): 2 elderly people
Lady’s husband was convinced this was the “Mark of the Beast”, and made her un-enroll
Must continue to educate the public on how biometric technology works to dispel the “Mark of the Beast” phobia
Credit cards faced exactly the public phobias when they were first tested!

This is news? I grew up in the Bay Area in the '50s and 60's and could have told you pretty much the same thing then as now. Especially after '66 or so. Only one surprise: that Protestants outnumber Roman Catholics in Marin... either the sample is messed up, or more Catholics in Marin have abandoned the Church than Protestants have abandoned their churches. Perhaps it reflects the cost of living in Marin - probably few hispanics can afford to live there.

The maggot editors and publishers in charge of the SF Gayrhonicle wanted this presented as news.

So they set up the guidelines and had their phoney pollers trick up the phoney data. Then "Fimrite" (what an appropriate name for a so called reporter for this fishwrap) did this perfect Political Correctness fable showing how diverse in religion the wonderful people of Marin are.

This is a current example of the many reasons why I cancelled my subscription to this worthless perverted fishwrap in 1992. They have PC Diversity Fables posing as news.

Sounds like a good place to raise a kid if you should want him to take a fling at jihad.

All this captured over 20 years ago in the brilliant (and under-appreciated) movie satire of life in Marin County Serial.

The "Mark of the Beast" is/will be an explicit denial of Christ and exceptance of the Anti-christ, not some secret trick perpetrated by government.

And IMHO, i think it has something to do with mind control technology, hence the Bible saying once someone takes it, they can not be saved. The Bible makes no mention anywhere of "actions" making it impossible for one to be "saved" before their death. Revelations does make mention of "strong delusions" which is my basis for the mind control theory.

I really don't care what religion (or lack of) people choose as long as they'd don't conclude that their God is better than your God and all non-believers must die.

Sounds about right to me. I'd add, though, they should also not ring my doorbell bright and early on my day off.

One of my favorite bumper stickers:

"If God doesn't destroy San Francisco, He owes Sodom and Gomorrah an apology."

Tobin, the president of the Jewish institute, which has conducted many studies of religion and ethnicity in America, said such criticism is not only intolerant, but unsupported by the facts.

"The notion that exploring religious options and having a variety of options leads somehow to someone becoming a traitor and fighting against his country is a dangerous idea," Tobin said. "It's an example of the extreme fear of the unknown. It has absolutely nothing to do with the landscape of religious tolerance in Marin."

Hey, Putz. Go get a copy of the Tanakh. Wait, this guy probabkly can't even read Hebrew, so get a descent (ie not the REform Version) of the Hebrew Bible. Look up the punishment for Apostacy.
Heck, check out the actual story of Modi'in and compare your suicidal policies with those of the Hasmonean clan.
