DRUDGE SIREN must mean it is Sunday night and his radio show is on. :)
To: exit82
This is from today. Evans is more than likely the choice for Treasury Secretary.

Im pulling for Schwab myself. I don't really care for Friedman, a Goldman Sachs man in the adviser role; Did he work for Corzine, I wonder?
To: rintense
Yes, Evans is the man. LONGTIME bush friend/supporter.

You should have heard Corzine dancing around about this guy today. He didn't want to say it was a good choice, but he didn't want to dump on the guy either. It was pretty funny...about a solid minute of complete waffling!

Most people think that Karl Rove ran the 2000 campaign...and in one sense he did---he was the campaign Manager. But what they don't realize is that Karl actually served under Don Evans, who was the campaign Chairman.
Don Evans is probably the President's closest political friend.
Not a bad thing for a Treasury Secretary, to be that close to the Boss---if they are at the same time qualified for the job...which Don Evans definitely is.
I still want it to be Archer, because of his position on tax reform. But on the other hand, I don't know where Evans comes down in terms of tax policy. Not that it probably matters that much anyway, because in the end, on something that fundamental it is going to be the President who sets the agenda anyhow.

That is a very cool picture.

You can't beat this siren from SecurityWorld. This handy dandy siren also comes with a convenient programmable Motion Sensor that illusively shines a beacon of light on would-be intruders. Great for those people who are to goddam-lazy to look out the window.

How about an economics profession...PhD. type with Washington experience....Dick Armey or Phil Gramm?
Armey would be interesting --- expect an entire new tax system - would stimulate the economy beyond belief -- only problem is, I favor a national sales tax and Armey favors a flat tax. Flat tax still requires a huge IRS and favors those who hide/shelter income....sales tax best choice...!! But I don't expect to see this in my lifetime
