We the undersigned American Citizens stand against Wealthy Hollywood Celebrities abusing their status to speak for us. We do not believe that they have a clear understanding of how we live, what we fear, and what we support. We believe that celebrities Martin Sheen, Mike Farrell, Tim Robbins, Rob Reiner, Barbara Streisand, and others with them are using their celebrity to interfere with the defense of our country. more...

"They're pretty arrogant aren't they?" My comment at iPetitions. Their detached arrogance makes it easy to save money by staying out of 'theaters'.
The conspiracy of ignorance masquerades as common sense. Their conspiracy of ignorance is unmasked!

Please sign the petition, then vote against them with your pocketbook. Attend no mvie, rent no tape, watch no tv show, and buy no product that sponsors their work. Let their sponsors know why you aren't buying their stuff!

I'm not familiar with the petition. How does one go about signing it?
To: God'sgrrl
signed!!!!
p.s.
we should have expected those liberals to come out of hiding the moment that the Republicans had so much success during the elections. Now we will be bombarded with propoganda for the new two years. Of course all of those who hid away and never said a "word" against Clinton, will now come out of the woodworks and bash President Bush. They have a lot of work to do before the next Presidential election!!!!
p.s.s. does anyone remember hearing from any of these people after 9/11?

Oh, my God! What paper? I've got to read that.
Bush needs to drop this whole matter in the the proverbial lap of the Arab nation. Tell them he will hold THEM responsible for any future terrorist attacks. Tell THEM to fix the problem of suicide-bombers.

Socrates: On the subject of seeking and taking advice on any given topic, let us start with the obvious. Why should I pay any attention to a perpetual pauper's advice on how to generate wealth?
Glaucon: Because he can string together doggerel rhyme, this grants him great credibility.
Socrates: Oh, the foolishness to which the intellect can fool us into accepting! One should seek advice for the generation of wealth only from those who have demonstrated success in that endeavor, for only they have credibility in that field. What can a pauper advise you on, save how to be a pauper?
Glaucon: Yes, I see it now, it can be only as you have said. A pauper's economic opinion is without value.
Socrates: Indeed. Now let us extend this line of Reason to include the political advice of mere celebrities. Why should I or anyone take their uninformed and inexperienced opinions, dripping with infantile bias and far outside the realm of their demonstrated competence, any more seriously than we would take the puerile drooling of babes?
Glaucon: But, surely, the fact of their social prominence renders them wise in all fields?
Socrates: No, my friend, indeed it does not. The two are unrelated, and it is foolish to forget this. The mere fact of fame does not imply competence in anything save the realm of fame itself. An actor knows how to make a lie seem as Truth, an entertainer knows how to say anything in a way that makes it pleasing, and a nubile and nearly nude dancer knows how to sell sizzle as if it were steak. These are all practices of deception in one manner or another, and have no relation to the art of having true thoughts about known facts. You would do well to remember this, as would we all.
Glaucon: Yes, I see it now. It can be only as you have said. Not only have they no demonstrated competence in real international affairs, or economics, or foreign policy than does the average man of the Polis, but on top of this fact is another: Entertainers excel at public falsity, and this fact should cause us all to view any statement of theirs beyond their demonstrated field of competence with a very jaundiced eye. Thank you for showing me my error.
Socrates: You are welcome, my friend. Now, it is Miller Time.
reposted for entertainment value. will sign petition now.

I will listen to these morons only when they publicly state who is supplying them with their intel. Until then, I will go with President Bush.

Hey, GG, that's the most fun I've had signing a petition:
You celebrity liberals, with your gated communities, armed bodyguards, and comped lifestyles have no idea of life in the real world. Go back to reciting the words underappreciated writers put in your mouths and leave the defense of the nation to the experts.
