this represents a dilemma for me; I can fully understand freeper sentiment regarding the worst of the lot; I refuse to see any Baldwin, Roberts, Streisand, etc. etc., and the list goes on depressingly...however, a boycott of all movies deprives me culturally (The Madness of King George III) and in pure entertainment(Deliverance). Besides, what if there are people in the film e.g. Chuck Heston or Arnold Schwartzenegger? And how do you know that some of the production people aren't decent conservatives? My point is, while I will selectively boycott for content and personnel, I LOVE movies and feel enriched by seeing them. My VERY limited entertainment budget almost requires that I see movies...I would appreciate hearing the opinions of other freepers...

Look, it's not on your shoulders to tear asunder the economic structure of Hollywood for political purposes. Go to the movies, watch TV, listen to records, and attend the theater to your heart's desire. It's a simple market transaction -- if you like Alec Baldwin, go see his movies. Who cares what the nimrod believes politically? You're not going to see him lecture on current events -- you're going to see him portray somebody else.

This whole "boycott" thing is ridiculous. Moreover, it's a liberal tactic and unworthy of the intelligent, broad-mined conservative.
