A leading death penalty opponent says that the number of exonerations in capital cases this year is fueling support for the abolition of capital punishment, even though more people were executed in 2002 than the year before and his numbers have come under vigorous criticism.

What it shows is how extremely difficult it is to execute someone, even if they are guilty.

Just to note, and here's the trivia question.

Can anyone name, since 1900, a person who was innocent and was executed. i.e. they were executed and then it was found out somone else did it, or such?
