Modesto police on Thursday asked the public to help verify the whereabouts of Scott Peterson, the husband of a pregnant woman missing for more than a week.

Police released pictures of a pickup truck, boat and boat trailer they impounded from Laci Peterson's husband, and asked the public to tell them if they saw Scott Peterson before Christmas.

Its a 95%+ chance the husband is the murderer. That's how it usually works out. Of course once in a blue moon you get your innocent, wrongly accused Dr. Richard Kimbles (you remember ...the Fugitive?).

The old saying "no news is good news" is unfortunately not too often true in cases like these. The longer it goes on, the less chance this woman is alive. But I'm holding out hope she's alright. You never know.

His wife is 8 months pregnant and he goes on a fishing trip for Christmas??? Right. Sure. If I had done that, my wife would have been filing divorce papers on December 26th.

Greta Van Susteran did an audio interview with LE on her show last night (Thursday night). The Medinas (victims of the burglary) did not leave their home until 10:34 a.m. of the morning of 12/24/02 according to LE. And also according to LE the dog indicates that Laci did not go toward the park or down the street. The dog indicates that Laci's scent ended in the driveway of her home. Greta asked LE if Laci got into a car that was parked in the Peterson's driveway and LE responded yes.

But, didn't the first article say that the husband had receipts for buying gas & for boat launching on that date & wasn't his fishing somehow related to his work in agriculture, that's what I thought the first article said. I wondered about the fishing too, but it didn't make it sound like it was anything but a day trip, not all thru the christmas holiday.

If the husband killed her he could of dumped her anywhere in the Delta.

Why with the Delta would a guy go to Berkley to fish?

Where did he stop for gas he had to gas up somewhere going that distance.

It really sound odd with the Delta that he would go all the way to Berkley. where do people fish in Berkley? Or am I thinking of the wrong Berkley?

PING! OK i'm new at this so if i've missed anyone Freepmail me and i'll add you as soon as I get it. :o)
I'm also adding TexKat's message from the other thread to here. I think the police are pretty sure she didn't leave the house on foot.
If she left him the dog would not have been out draging a leash, I think things are looking bad for the husband.

The boat and truck look brand new and hardly used ! I am NOT a fisherman, but it seems to me if you go fishing your boat is a mess, stinks from either fish or bait, and has water marks or some indication (dirt) that its been used lately. If he was an avid fisherman, the boat sure doesn't look used much so that story doesn,t hold much water. I wonder if there was life insurance involved ? I wonder if this guy got his hands dirty at all and if they took samples off the steering wheel which would validate his story. Isn't it coincidental that Westerfield (the neighbor) took a trip in the Van Dam case ? With all this reward money out there, I would think these folks were heavily insured also....My hunch would be the hubby had a g/f somewhere and instead of getting a divorce and having to pay child support, he opted for the scam where he could collect some life insurance money and have his freedom and sympathy. This looks like a setup to me, if he was an avid fisherman the boat would look like it was "personalized" or altered to accomodate the necessary items he used all the time rather than some brand new looking, stripped boat that looks like it was purchased with some nefarious goal in mind. And now he is not cooperating in the investigation ??????

I agree. Wasn't this the same plot of a real murder trial on TV last year? They never found the wife's body. They convicted the husband anyway.

Here's another thought. If the husband didn't kill her but did have a girlfriend on the side, maybe the girlfriend got jealous of the wife having a baby or got tired of waiting for hubby to leave her. She could have arranged something to get Laci out of the way.

Phone records need to be checked carefully.

Eggs-zactly! This one shouldn't be too difficult to solve.
