Meals Ready to Eat.

A pre-Packaged meal that the military serves their troops. My daughter loves them, but then again I think she just weird. lol, Everyone around here has their own personal favorites. + there are quite a few makeshift recipies that one can create out of MRE's. Like Ranger Pudding. 4 envelopes of coco to about a half cup water, heated. etc etc.

Technical Description; MRE's (which are pronounced as separate letters: M,R,E's) are ready-to-eat meal kits. The name MRE comes from their military description: Meals, Ready-to-Eat. Developed for soldiers in combat conditions, these meals are already cooked and moist. No finding water, boiling water or waiting for re-hydration. Great tasting, (huh????) long shelf life and always in high demand and short supply whenever disaster strikes.

MRE = Meal Ready to Eat military rations. You can get them at surplus stores for about $4.00 ( at least that's what they used to cost) You can get a pack of chemical heaters for the entree too. You just add a little water, and the pack gets hot, stuff the entree in and presto, hot "food" They come in a tough little brown plastic bag and include desert, maybe some 20 year old apple sauce or such, some candy or gum, matches, drink mix, some tp and other little goodies. I kind of like them. Some are not bad at all and you never know what you will find inside. Kinda like adult Cracker Jacks but I think MREs last longer.
