I believe war will come either way. Saddam wants to wait so that Iraq can be better armed and strike first. Bad idea.

Wednesday will be more of a test for Germany, France, and the entire UN than anything.

I suspect they will pass that test because to fail it is to become irrelevant. We shall see.

The one-time Newspaper of Record takes another dagger. These sorts of semi-official op-eds from Administration Big Names used to automatically go to Howell Raines' increasingly irrelevant fish wrapper.

I'm glad to see the White House press office play a little hardball. It's about time.
