THOROLD, ONT. - Canada is examining whether Ernst Zundel is too much of a security risk to allow into Canada.
The German-born Holocaust denier was thrown out of the United States earlier this week, and is trying to argue that he deserves to be allowed to remain in Canada.
Zundel says he is a good candidate for refugee status in Canada, but Canadian officials are examining his actions and his past links to racist groups.
The Canadian Security Intelligence Service advised the government Zundel was a national security risk because of ties to racist groups back in 1996.
Zundel says he's changed, but Bernie Farber of the Canadian Jewish Congress says a quick glance at his Web site proves that the former Toronto resident is still spreading hate. "He remains the king of Holocaust denial," said Farber.
Meanwhile, Zundel insists the U.S. had no grounds to remove him, and that his detractors have mislabelled him.
If it's determined that Zundel is still a risk Immigration Minister Denis Coderre has the right to deny him a refugee hearing and deport him to Germany immediately.
In 1991, Zundel was convicted in absentia of inciting hatred in Germany. German authorities say he would be arrested immediately and could face a fine or imprisonment of up to five years.
First of all, I should note that Canada has a thriving national security state that is working quite comfortably under a Liberal government. The APEC scandal of 1997 isn't the first time this issue has been raised; there were complaints of the abuse of RCMP security forces all through the 1970s, when Liberal Pierre Trudeau was Prime Minister here. And there might have been muted compaints under other Liberals, most notably the one that was in charge in the 1930s and 1940s, William Lyon Mackenzie King.
You should note that the Left seems to have a monopoly regarding this issue up in Canada. This is the result of a hornswoggle that needs to be taken apart.
Every society has groups that are deemed an "enemy within." There are several varieties, and they all tend to be made into kick-toys. The neo-Nazis are one of them; the Communists were another; al-Quaidan sympathizers certainly are one; and there are others.
In order to maintain a moral patina, each of these groups have both an enemy and a hook - a propoganda strategy which would make the enemy repugnant to general society if the gambit is accepted. The neo-Nazis take on "swindlers" and try to link such corruption to Jewish perople; the Communists take on the "grasping, vampiric bourgeois" and try to link such to businesspeople; the al-Quaidans take anti-American complaints and try to link it to "Satan."
Now, let's add this scenario. A government is corrupt in one of these three ways: it's either packed full of swindlers, or is dominated by bloodsuckers, or is Machiavellian. The people are beginning to get wind of this, and a few of the braver ones are considering standing up to these corrupt powers-that-be. This government, having something to hide, needs a distraction.
And what better distraction to call any honest patriot and/or good citizen a "neo-Nazi"; a "Commie"; or an "extremist Muslim", depending upon what variety of corruption is being covered up?
I should note that people with a "room-temperature I.Q." are better at this kind of dissemble than regular folks, as subtleties tend to escape them. So they're sincerer than the more intelligent person when lumping dissimilar things together.
I should also note that such an act of political magicianship keeps the patriot very much on the defensive until such is seen through.
This probably won't accomplish much, as political machines stay alive by spoiling "their" favoured citizens. The imposition of "conditional love" might frighten the ward heelers!
But apprearances will be kept up, as specified in the first paragraph.
Wilson and Laing are two former immigrants from Jamaica. Last week they heisted an armoured car and took $75,000. This was in Toronto. Their car stalled and they took hostages, they later surrendered, Each had been deported to Jamaica three times, because of violent crimes. One fellow only took four days to get back into Canada. It is obvious that the Minister of Immigration in Canada has not got much of a clue . Another man from Jamaica was ordered deported and the authorities failed to execute this. He then murdered a police officer.
I read of a house invasion last year in Montreal. Recent immigrants (I believe not Jamaicans) terrified a rich Jewish Canadian couple for eight hours and so it goes. I am sure all Canadians will join with me, in having mild hysterics about Zundel. It is sure safe that way.
Oh, was in Atlanta once. Now that Cyclorama and the General..... Awesome, as the kids of today would say. I too have veered toward Israel as of late. I sincerely know that their forbearance is being tested to limit. Other nations would have gone beserk in retaliation. This will get me off any Canadian civil servants hit list- cheers.
I might have been somewhat unfair in linking the obvious terror that more than a few Canadians have of their government to the low-I.Q. type being in the Ottawa high chair, but the underlying logic of this is that people who are skilled in dissembling and opportunism do tend to lump the innocent in with the guilty on the basis of a surface resemblance that is in fact spurious. That's why J. Edgar Hoover always insisted that any would-be "Commie fighter" confine themselves to letting the professionally-trained FBI handle any investigation of suspected traitors. He told everyone to rely on the FBI because of their professional restraint, which really goes beyond one's I.Q. score.
I'm glad I put the right burr down. Every new citizen of this earth has to learn the same lessons of common sense for themselves. More than a few of the Internet residents need it very badly, because (to finish the balance) a deficit in common sense is very much associated with the high-I.Q. type.
May I make a friendly suggestion? A bit of an old ex-socialist here, hard to shake off my "compassion". Each person lies within a certain grouping of the IQ. 90-115 I was told. We have to educate our adversaries- a la the maestro of talk- El Rushbo. You will find what I mean in my civilised reply to a Freeper query.
Orwell's series of essays titled "Polemic" uses that style.
