The President told us so 5 months ago.

History Channel tonight, just five minutes ago, said a 1999 U.S. bombing run ripped off the roof of an Iraqi hangar and revealed a fleet of drones already equipped with tanks for spraying chemicals. Five years ago.

Our recent presidents have shown little appreciation for truth.

No need for a drone -- a private plane operated by a licensed pilot with a sprayer could do the same thing. Read the chilling, very realistic scenario published here:

If It Happened Here (mine: freerepublic.com mentioned in HYPOTHETICAL story about LA Anthrax attack)

The point isn't that we knew about it. The point is that Blind Blix actually found one and pretty much spiked the report. It's the UN/Saddam cabal that are trying to deceive.

Exactly. That is why we weren't sharing much intel info with the UN inspectors. We wanted to see what they do, when they come upon violations on their own, and we got our answer.

This is the crux matter ... Blix has been trying to undercut the US credibility by saying he couldn't verify this and could not find evidence of that. I think now we know why.

There were even pictures on TV of the drone flying and spraying months ago. But the inspectors finding a real one, that is big news that takes it out of the realm of 'maybe, maybe not'.

What else does Blix know and is not telling?

I don't think the drones in the 173 page "secret" Blix report are the same ones in this article.

Blix's report clearly says 25 foot wingspan.

My experience is mainly with marine radar, but even a cheapie radar set should be able to pick these things up. A small boat radar easily picks up lobster pots and buoys. I doubt whether these drones are sophisticated enough to escape observation.

Blix left out those 4 to 6 pages. Anything he said/says/will say should be questioned.

Everyone assumes Blix is just a fool. The evidence suggests that he is, rather, a villain. It was he who approved the original nuclear program in Iraq back in the Seventies.

The Dems and the anti-war activists have told us Iraq is not a threat to us. How can this be?

Thats the larger question...I'm guessing lots. He's enjoying his 15 minutes, and milking for all its worth. that SOB needs to stop with the opinions though. He's there to inspect, not politic.

Maybe Blix knew who the scientist was, who tried to defect, clutching his notebook.

I still remember that picture of the inspector sitting there, wanting nothing to do with the guy and his possibly smoking gun information. The UN didn't want to have a smoking gun handed to them.

I feel so sorry for that poor, poor, desperate Iraqi guy, who risked everything, because he thought the UN will help him, and probably had important information.

I hope that all the UN inspectors who were involved in handing him back to Saddam will be haunted by that all their lives and will burn in hell afterwards.

I hope the guy is still alive to give payback to the inspectors. If I were him I would go looking for them.
