"You know, Iraq has a long history, from about 8000 years, and all that time we are fighting enemies because Iraq has oil and resources."

Helal Ibrahim Aaref's memory is short, although his ignorance is long. Australia has already invaded his "country" once, although it was called Mesopotamia then. In 1916, the Australian Light Horse, under General Allenby, seized Mesopotamia, the Arabian peninsula and Palestine for Britain. After the war, British diplomats created the country of Iraq, composed of the Kurdish, Sunni and Shiite areas of the former Mesopotamia.

Although the wisdom of British diplomacy can be doubted, the bravery of the Light Horse cannot. Helal Ibrahim Aaref, they will see you in Baghdad and see you in hell.
