There is only one thing I can think of that has Chirac this desperate.

I think there's proof positive somewhere that France was directly involved in September 11.

THIS would be something that would turn the entire world against France. And somehow, some way, Saddamn has proof to show the world. I don't know what or why but evidence of France's participation in the attacks of September 11 on the United States would spin this earth on its axis.

I think Chirac is very worried what the U.S.A. will find in Bagdad. The complicity of the French and German Governments with Saddam will be proven beyond a doubt and Chirac's political life will be ruined. The icing on the cake will be if there is proof that Clinton refused to take Osama bin Laden from the Sudanese was because he was being blackmailed by enemies of the U.S. Certainly China had enough dirt on Clinton to force him to approve the transfer of militarily significant technology to the PRC.
