Rush played some clips of Silver debating Bill Maher on Wolf Blitzer's show this morning - he was great.

Here is what his character (an evil politician) in said in the move Timecop:

"When I'm in office it's going to be just like the 80's. The top 10% will get richer and the other 90% can immigrate to Mexico where they can get a better life."

What I can't figure out is it sounds like a Democrat (that is what they believe happened in the 80's. Seems to me immigration went the other way but what do I know.) but I think he (and the writers) were sincerely trying to sound like a Republican.

#18...I will admit to not having heard him address this issue.
A lot of you have.

Maybe it's personal, but to me, Ron Silver sounding patriotic is akin to James Carville sounding patriotic all of a sudden.

I wouldn't buy that one either.

But thanks, you have a good point of view.

Classic!! Rack-him!!

I remember the day he looked up and saw the jets and said, "what are they doing here.....wait....they're ours now!"

It is only temporary until another Clinton-clone comes along and mesmerizes the dimwitted left.

You did say "evil politician." Hollywood writer=Democrat, evil politician = Republican --- best guess --- my money is with the portrayal as: Da, da,-- Evil Republican Politician.

Yes, he was definately supposed to be Republican. I just found it kind of ironic and silly.

It is as if his character said "I can't wait to get into office and make more old people starve." Obviously an attempt to sound like a Republican but not the kind of thing a Republican would actually say in conversation or even think.

I don't think elected Republicans speak to each other in inverse Democrat taking points.
