As I said, I don't care what we call it. I'd just like to see us do it.Sorry if I diminished your attempts at getting a good thing started with a cheap joke. It is a great idea. I just can't get that darn commercial out of my head. That's got to be the most successful advertising campaigns of all time. Good luck with your support of our troops, and God Bless.

Bump!!
I live on post and we have lots of help and been-there-done-that shoulders on which to cry. However, a good percentage of dh's unit is just-activated reservists from PA, VA, WV, all over this area, who have left their families behind in their own communities. Most neighbors don't know (or don't care) what these suddenly alone families are going through, and I know they need more support than those of us who have lived the life day in and day out for years.
Here's a book that has been recommended to me by another army wife as a great resource to give to newly initiated (activated) army wives, as well as family members and others who just don't know what these families are going through.

Check the rogerhedgecock.com website. Roger started a program called "Operation Home Front". It has been an outstanding success. So much so, that Roger is daily overwhelmed. Maybe you can get some ideas there.

See you Saturday?

Great idea. The HR Dept. where you work, or of any large company, is a good place to start. Another good place to start is your local fire department, police department and sheriffs department. These departments are hard hit in most places.
From these people we can network to reach more service families.

Thanks. We might be able to get help from the base finding out what help people need.

Not at all! If you think of the commercial others might too and I took your comments as something to be considered not as disparaging or anything of the kind.

I think it's a sweet idea. I don't have ANY time at the moment to help set it up, but once you decide on what you want to do with it, let me know and I can forward/e-mail the info to the NTX freepers.

Great!! Thanks
I'm trying to see if we can get help getting the word out to the families.
We have enough FReepers all over the country that we should be able to do some good here.

I would like to give out Blue Stars at the Rally on Saturday. Does anyone know what the original blue stars looked like, what color background, etc.? I tried a search, but did not find anything on the web.
