I've banned Canadians from bidding on my stuff before all the current cross-border stink started, simply because they are annoying late payers, who ALWAYS ask me to lie on the customs forms for them. They often whine about postage costs. I started to get the feeling most Canadians live below what Americans consider the poverty line.
I also waive shipping to APO addresses. Recommend others take up the practice. The least we can do.

I also state in my auctions that I don't sell outside the USA for some of the same reasons you listed. What is amazing is that many Canadians ignore this and quickly pay for the auction using the US shipping amount and think you will ship it to them anyway and take a loss!
