IDF forces operated against Palestinian terrorist infrastructure overnight (March 27, 2003), in the Gaza Strip city of Beit Hanoun. During the operation, terrorists fired at IDF forces, launched anti-tank missiles, and detonated explosives.
The terrorists attacked IDF forces from a number of positions, including a Palestinian police post. IDF forces returned fire. No injuries were caused to IDF forces during the operation.
Terrorists also fired two mortars at an Israeli community in the Gaza Strip and fired on IDF forces along the Israel-Egypt border overnight. In addition, terrorists fired at IDF forces near the Israeli community of Gadid in the southern Gaza Strip as well as the Israeli community of Netzarim in the northern Gaza Strip. IDF forces returned fire. No injuries or damage were reported.
In addition, Israeli security forces arrested three wanted Palestinian terrorists overnight in the northern Gaza Strip, and seven Palestinian terrorists near the Israeli community of Morag in the southern Gaza Strip.
Eight Explosive Devices Uncovered North of Jenin
During the night, IDF forces uncovered 8 explosive devices in the village of Al-Yamoun, north of Jenin. The devices were detonated in a controlled explosion. IDF forces also arrested 22 wanted Palestinians in the West Bank and detained them for further questioning.
